I would like to buy a house, but I dont have THAT kind of money, so I wanted to look into foreclosures.
How would I get a list. I dont want to get scammed.
Thanks

Check with local banks, credit unions, mortgage companies, any company that lends money for houses that may have to foreclose. You can also find real estate agents that specialize in foreclosures, especially HUD foreclosures, that will be happy to give you a listing of all the HUD homes in your area.

you can find a realtor that specializes in working with foreclosures. Any realtor can pull a list for you. There are some websites that tell you about houses that are in the forclosure process–so if i were you i would work with a legitimate realtor–they should be able to help you out– and in this market– they will be happy to work you!

Also available are sites like realtytrac and more. They provide the foreclosure status of properties in your area, as well as REO, FSBO and Re Sale.
